How to Have Your Makeup Look Awesome Every Day
Hi my Lovelies! Today, I am happy to share with you a new guest post written by Amy Mia. We hope you will enjoy it and find it easier to have your makeup look awesome every day!
Every new day is a new opportunity to look and feel great as we bravely take on the challenges that come out way. Each of us has something unique about them, and these special little characteristics are what we’re known for, and they’re a big part of our personal style. Style is more than just expensive clothes, it’s about our taste and creativity, about how we manage to put details together to create something stunning that shows off our individuality. Makeup is a big part of that, so learning some makeup slaying skills is a must for any woman who values her appearance. Here’s how to make the daily application of makeup a quick, easy process.
Good skincare above all
This deserves a quick mention, because there’s no way makeup is going to work for you if you don’t take proper care of your skin. Daily cleansing, moisturizing and the use of sunscreen are really important, and so is the weekly exfoliation. It will give you a soft skin that isn’t overly textured and doesn’t look bumpy even after you apply foundation.
Prep and prime
Before you begin, it’s important to use a good primer if you want smooth, easy application of the rest of your makeup. POLA Silfique Under Makeup Base will help you prep your face for makeup and it will also provide effect of skincare. A good primer won’t leave your face oily, but it will still give it a nice dewy look. It also helps to even out the texture of your skin. Primer is really important if you plan to have makeup on your face for longer than two or three hours.
Pick the right foundation
This will depend on your skin type and what you generally look for in a foundation. Have terrible cystic acne? Dermacol Makeup Cover Foundation is one of the most extreme, high-coverage foundations that can cover up even the worst of breakouts, but unless you really need it, it’s suggested that you go for something lighter, like L’Oréal’s Infallible 24h Matte foundation which still offers nice coverage for oily skin, or check out these awesome foundations for dry skin. If you already have pretty good skin, a BB cream can be more than enough because it’ll even out your skin tone and look very natural.
Conceal problem areas
Dark circles under the eyes, blemishes, or any extreme redness can all be solved with a little bit of concealer. Use Tarte’s Shape Tape, or NYX’s HD Concealer, and apply it under the eyes in a triangular shape to brighten the whole area up, and anywhere else you think you need it. After this, it’s time to set that under eyes area to prevent any creasing, and for that you can use the “baking technique” explained here. It will make your makeup last longer and look flawless even by the end of the day.
Enhance your eyes and eyebrows
Eyeshadow doesn’t need to be elaborate to look good. A hint of warm nude color in the crease of your eye can do wonders. You can make it more complex by popping a shimmery shade on the center of your lid, some dark eyeshadow in the outer corner, and then blending it all out gently. Use a good mascara like Better Than Sex from Too Faced, and you’re done. As for eyebrows, comb through them with a spoolie, then use an eyebrow pencil to fill in any sparseness, and then some brow gel to keep them in place. The Essence Make Me Brow is inexpensive, and yet it works really well and it’s easy to use.
Give your face some depth
Using a bronzer and blush is, same as anything else, optional, but these can really give your face a beautiful depth. If you’re ready to splurge, go for Marc Jacob’s O!Mega Bronze, or use Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, which is a lot more affordable. Apply the bronzer right above the hollows of your cheeks, near the hairline, and use one of Bobbi Brown’s blushes on the apples of your cheeks for a natural flush. Top it off with a highlighter on the top of your cheekbones, and you’ll have a gorgeous glow. Becca Shimmering Perfector Pressed Highlighters are excellent for both a glamorous, and a more subtle radiance.
Pick a poppin’ lipstick
For every day, you want a good nude lipstick that has that “your lips but better” kind of vibe to it. Fair and light skintones look great with pink undertones, and olive and dark-skinned ladies can work a caramel shade like no one else, and mauve is something that looks good on most people. Essence Makeup has some amazing lipsticks. These beauties are affordable and a good choice for your everyday makeup.
Finish everything off with a good setting spray and you’re pretty much done. Look at you, you sexy, glowing goddess, slaying your makeup game, and showing off your style. Don’t forget to experiment and play around with different products and you’ll get good in no time.
