Spruce up Your Wardrobe and Bring Some Pizzazz to Your Style
Hi my Lovelies! Today, I am happy to share with you a new fashion guest post written by Amy Mia. We hope you will enjoy discovering how you too can Spruce up Your Wardrobe and Bring Some Pizzazz to Your Style!
People all over the globe have many things in common and staring at a wardrobe full of clothes thinking ‘I have nothing to wear’ is one of them. This mysterious occurrence actually has a very logical explanation. No, we haven’t been spoiled by choices, at least not always. Sometimes, we’re just stuck in a rut – we’ve worn the same pieces, created numerous outfits, but there’s only so much we can do with the same garments in rotation.
Every now and then we simply need to get out of the rut and freshen up our look. This doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank – you would be surprised by how impactful and innovative a few strategically chosen pieces can be at bringing a breath of fresh air to your wardrobe, so let’s discover what they are and then go scouting for those that fit best.

If you, like many women, are dealing with a closet so stacked that you don’t even remember the pieces sitting at the bottom of the shelves, it’s time to dive in and dig for buried treasures. If you have to, dedicate an entire day to this task and put your newly discovered ‘old golds’ on top; this will ensure they get back into your regular rotation. Now, this is a good time to make some hard choices and set some clothes free for good. The general rule of thumb is: if you haven’t worn it for a year – it goes; overly trendy now outdated items also, and those you bought on a whim and don’t work with anything you own.
The fun part
Now, it’s time to shop. Okay, the first thing you definitely must own is a double-breasted checkered blazer, preferably long, preferably oversized. This piece is key for numerous reasons. First – it embodies the new concept of power dressing as it is technically a part of a pantsuit. Secondly, it’s a refreshing piece especially in the light of the fact that plaid is the pattern of the season yet has a timeless vibe to it, so you know it won’t be short-lived. Thirdly, in the midst of the athleisure reign, you really need this blazer to elevate your casual, sporty looks and make them appropriate for every occasion. Finally, if it’s long enough, you can pull it off as a dress, especially with black tights and a cool belt.
Dare to wear
The one rule you need to follow when you want to revamp your wardrobe is to reach for things you never thought you would dare to wear. Try things you never thought would look good on you. For instance, some women spend ages thinking they can’t pull of wide leg pants because they don’t have Karlie Kloss’s legs, but given the right fabric and cut, these can look amazing and so, so chic on every body shape, but like Goldilocks, you just have to find the right one. You can wear them with hoodies – athleisure style, with sneakers or sky-high heels, camisole tops, regular tees – dress them up or down, totally up to you. That’s why they’re worth the buy – you can wear them with anything and they are a more ‘pizzazz-y’ alternative to regular jeans.
Basics

We know that basic tees and crew sweaters are the must-have basics of every wardrobe, but this year, mix things up and instead of your plain tees, go for graphic ones. You can rock the ones that carry a message that’s important to you, like ‘future is female’, or one with a print from Stranger Things – heck, it can say ‘doughnuts’ if they’re important to you. A bit of whimsy is always welcome in a wardrobe and graphic tees are all the rave now.
The world of the skirt
If you think there is no such thing as too much plaid, then, by all means, go for a plaid skirt, whether a pencil one – like the amazing ones they have at Zara, or even pleated midi ones. On the other hand, if one checkered item is more than enough for you, a metallic pleated midi will be a great replacement.
Pearls of wisdom
When you don’t want to invest a lot in jewelry, this is the thing to do – find one valuable piece, like a string of pearls, a broche, a locket – perhaps a family heirloom and rock it all the time. Like a great perfume, this will be your signature, and it’s highly important to have something that sets you apart – personality and style-wise. You can be the girl who wears turbans, or the one with a massive sunglasses collection. Pick a type of accessory and make it your personal staple. Finally, invest in a great designer bag. They last a lifetime, never go out of style, and you know, by admiring the outfits of women you run into daily, just how much a great bag brings to the (outfit) table.
